How to Get Sexy Sounding Press Material

We all know about the important of keywords and buzzwords in our press material, but it's also important that you think about the sound of the words that you put into your release - and most importantly your first paragraph. For instance, glossy women's magazines love words like "sassy, sexy, sophisticated, sultry" - put them together and you have something that trips off the tongue and just invites you to read on.

Remember Onomatopoeia? It's when a word sounds like the action or noun it represents - like screech or sigh for instance. Bringing techniques like this into your press release can help add atmosphere and interest. Consider this sentence from a press release for a day spa:

"the only sounds you'll hear are the soft hum of our peaceful tropical fish tank and the hushed whispers of our guides as they gently lead you towards your waiting treatment room."

Get in the habit of reading your press releases aloud (indeed it's a good habit for any material that you put together) to check that they entice the reader to carry on and find out more.
